Our history and essence
La Cola del Pavo Real acknowledges the history
and geography of the location of our restaurant. In the early
1800s, the region, now identified as Puriscal, was known as
Cola del Pavo de Pavo [turkey tail]. The name derived
from the form of the landscape that resembles a turkey tail.
Our name, La Cola del Pavo Real not only reflects the connection
with our natural environment and local tradition, but it also
symbolizes the concept of our restaurant: a harmonic balance
between the old and the new. The restaurant's creative kitchen
combines traditional ingredients and techniques with
contemporary innovations, offering a culinary experience that
respects the past and looks towards the future
Our logo presents a stylized peacock. The rightward orientation
of the head symbolizes progressive innovation and vision towards
the future, while the direct eye contact towards the viewer
establishes security and confidence while remaining personal and
close to the observer.
The nine tail feathers of our logo symbolizes each of the nine districts of Puriscal cantón.
